The Tri-Cities Steel Band Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Richland, Washington. We promote world music in the Mid-Columbia region through education and music performance. The organization currently sponsors four performance bands: two steeldrum bands (OK2Botay and Bram Bratá) and two marimba bands ( ‘Baduku and ‘Bahuru). Steel Drum and Marimba Classes
TCSBA offers steel drum and marimba classes for children throughout the year (Summer, Fall, and Winter/Spring). Our classes teach music fundamentals in a fun, creative and energetic environment. Our instructors and student helpers provide hands on instruction to help students master new skills. Full details on the Classes page.
Schedule a Performance
All four bands are known throughout the Mid-Columbia region for their fun, musically rich performances. The bands perform at public events throughout the Pacific Northwest. Check out our calendar of public events so you, too, can enjoy our music. Or book your own performance. Our bands also perform for conferences, parties, wineries, fairs, retirement communities, telethons, weddings — you name it. Contact Us to schedule a gig.
TCSBA Christmas Concert
December 11, 2015 – 6:30pm
Chief Joseph Middle School
The bands travel all over the northwest on performances, but they don’t ever get a chance to play all together on one stage – except for the annual TCSBA Christmas Concert! The Christmas Concert features the four TCSBA bands — two steeldrum bands (OK2Botay and Bram Bratá) and two marimba bands ( ‘Baduku and ‘Bahuru) —performing two hours of fantastic Caribbean, African, and traditional popular and holiday music.
Tickets for the event are only $5 and can be purchased at the door, from any TCSBA band member, or by using the form on this page. Tickets purchased online will be available at the Will Call table at either entrance. Chief Joseph Middle School is located at 504 Wilson Street in Richland, WA (map). Also at the show is a silent auction with tons of local and unique goodies, a bake sale, and raffle items. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
