Summer Steel Drum 2012

The Tri-Cities Steel Band Association is offering summer steel drum classes for youth going into 4th grade through 12th grade. Ben Leggett, director of Bram Bratá and OK2Botay youth steel bands, will teach the classes in a fun and low-key learning atmosphere. At these classes, Mr. Leggett will be assisted by many Bram Bratá and OK2Botay members, thus ensuring plenty of individual instruction for each student. At the end of each session, the classes will perform the music they’ve learned at an evening recital in the park! Register today!

Class size is limited. Also note that Session II is not a repeat of Session I. Different songs are taught each session.

Marimba Clinics Offered!

The Bahuru marimba band is offering a marimba clinic on February 25. The proceeds from the clinic will be used for their summer trip. Two clinics are offered at the Tri Cities Steel Band studio:

  • 12-2p class is for 7-9 year olds and the
  • 2:30-4:30p session is for 10-12 year olds.

This is a great opportunity for children to get some marimba experience! There are only 25 spots per session, so if your child is interested, or if you know of someone else that is interested, it is suggested that you send in your registration as soon as possible. Marimba Clinic Information
