Classes
TCSBA offers steel drum and marimba classes for children throughout the year. Our classes teach music fundamentals in a fun, creative and energetic environment. Our instructors and student helpers provide hands on instruction to help students master new skills. All classes are taught at our studio near the Richland airport, 1857 Terminal Drive, Richland, WA.
Summer 2010 Classes
Registration is under way for our 2010 summer marimba and steel drum courses. Your child will love the challenge, fun and excitement of a two-week intensive music experience this summer. We stagger the class times to accommodate students who may want to take both marimba and steel drum.
Steel drum classes will run from June 29 through July 8 with an evening recital on the last day. We are only offering one steel drum session this year due to a conflict with Bram Brata’s performance tour. Download the registration form here or contact Manchi Gadbois (967-5298) for information.
Steel drum class schedules for this summer:
8:30 – 9:15 am: Class A for 4th and 5th grade (and higher) with little or no steel drum experience.
9:30 – 10:15 am: Class B for 5th and 6th grade and up with school marimba or steel drum or TCSBA class experience.
10:30 – 11:15 am: Class C for 6th grade and up with TCSBA Advanced class or a good amount of other steel drum experience.
Marimba classes will be held in two sessions: June 14 – 24 and July 29 – July 8. New music will be taught in each session so that students can come to both sessions for a whole month of marimba fun. Download the registration form here or contact Kelli Henson (374-3362) for more information.
